Gaiety School of Acting: Youth Theatre Company Show!!!
Well it's that time of year again when I start working with the Gaiety School of Acting: Youth Theatre Company on their big production. As always they are brimming with ideas. Read more here.
Exciting things in motion at The Ark!
So I have been doing some work in The Ark again over the last few days & I'm really intrigued by what I see. For the 1st time ever The Ark has a Theatre Maker in Residence & this program opens with a show call "The Girl who Forgot to Sing Badly". If Louis Lovett is anyway like he has been in his past productions at The Ark then this show & all else that unfolds with his residency will be an interesting journey. The show opens to the public on the 30th of January.
So what have I been doing?
Well, let me see, in the last couple of years I have been doing a bunch of things from working on shows as a Tech, to working in a bar & being involved in a Realism Gaming Unit. I have also been involved in a number of shows with Whiplash Prodcutions, with themes ranging from the great War of the Roses to the legendary Spartacus.
I spent some time in the US with some friends which turned out to be a very interesting time. I've been working on writing a script based on some improvisation done during an audition with the Gaiety School of Acting's Youth Theatre Company. I have also continued to work with the Youth Theatre Company as there sound designer. Nothing has change either with my connections to DCU, I'm still working on all the events for the Students Union.
Gaiety School of Acting: Youth Theatre Company is 10 Years Old!!!
As I said the YTC is now in its 10th year, WOOT!!!. There was a small celebration in the Gaiety School after the Christmas Showcases. Alas alot of the older members were unable to attend the occasion but at least some of the newer past members where there. I't was funny looking at some of the blurbs & picutres of the past shows that I was fortunate to work on or be in.

Spartacus: Highway to Hell
Here is a video of Spartacus, the last show I worked on with Whiplast productions. This is only part one of the show, links to the other 7 parts can be found here.
